**1985 – 2025**
Christopher Nels Swensen, 40, of Greensboro, NC, passed away peacefully at home on February 19th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho, Christopher was a kind and thoughtful soul who carried a deep passion for literature, writing, and the pursuit of knowledge.
An aspiring writer, Christopher earned his Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Idaho State University before continuing his studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he obtained a Master's degree in Creative Writing. His love of storytelling and the written word shaped his life, and he dreamed of one day publishing a novel and earning a Ph.D. His curiosity and dedication to his craft were evident in every conversation, every book he read, and every story he told.
More than anything, Christopher was a good human. He was generous in spirit, compassionate in nature, and always willing to listen. His presence brought warmth to those around him, and his kindness left a lasting impact.
Christopher's memory will be carried on by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by parents Linda and Rocky Mattison and brother Justin Rich. His absence leaves a profound void, but his legacy of passion and kindness will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Cody Judd Swensen, and his older brother, William Patrick. They are now reunited, sharing stories and laughter beyond this world.
A memorial service will be held at home in Idaho in the springtime, where friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate his life.
Rest in peace, Christopher. May your words and dreams live on.
