Claire B. Crouse, 95, died peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of George Crouse with whom she shared 37 years of marriage and the wife of the late Roger Turmel whom she shared 30 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1977.

Claire was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on September 29, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Helen (Levesque) Pomerleau.

In her younger years, she worked as a seamstress for Fashion Neckwear, and she was also employed as a custodian at BAE where she worked on what she affectionately referred to as "Mahogany Row" where many of the executives worked. She was very proud of that.

Claire was an avid sports fan who passionately followed all things football, with a deep and unwavering loyalty to her beloved New England Patriots. She was also a proud supporter of the Boston Red Sox, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on. Beyond sports, Claire had a love for travel and enjoyed Hawaii, Alaska, and Paris. Throughout her life, she took tremendous pride in maintaining her home, ensuring it was always a warm and welcoming place. However, above all else, Claire treasured the time spent with her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with whom she shared countless cherished memories.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Eskeland of Merrimack and Robin Simoneau and her husband Rene of Nashua; her two daughters-in-law, Lucille Turmel of Indiana and Tandra Turmel of New Hampshire; her nine grandchildren, Jill, Jennifer, Heidi, Hilary, Nathan, Benjamin, Sara, Abigail, and Austin. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Ted Turmel of Hudson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Roger and her parents, she was predeceased by her two sons, Jon Turmel and Lee Turmel; her son-in-law, Eric Eskeland; and her brother, Paul during her childhood.

At the request of Claire's family, all services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claire's name to the Community Hospice House, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
