Jay, 82, of Anderson, passed away on August 15, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Anderson, Indiana. He was born on January 16, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana, to his parents, Clifford and Violet Crouse. Jay graduated from Anderson High School in 1964. He retired as a Utility Man from the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors after 39 and a half years. Jay was a member of the Local UAW 662, an avid car enthusiast, especially 1957 Chevy, and he loved dogs, his pugs in particular. He enjoyed vacationing with family and friends, and loved telling stories and jokes. He never met a stranger. Jay is survived by his loving wife, Susan Crouse of 57 years; two daughters, Michelle (Larry) Drechsler and Wendy (Bill Sigler) Cook; son, Michael Crouse; five grandchildren, Jake Drechsler, Liv Drechsler, Britney (Bryan) Banks, Stephen Polisky and Cameron Matthews; two great-grandchildren, Conner and Lucas; brother-in-law, Danny Green; two sister-in-laws, Sondra Green and Patty Crouse, several nieces and nephews; special friends, Steve Wehrly and Mike Hester; his retired breakfast friends and many many more. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Dawn Crouse; six brothers, George and Benjamin Van Osdol, Albert, Pete, Eddie and Kenny Crouse; six sisters, Lee Moffitt, Pat Sherer, Janette and Mary Crouse, Madonna Van Osdol, and Ella Berman; father and mother-in-law, Billy and Eula Pierce; brother-in-law, Jesse Green; and son-in-law, Larry Cook. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, Indiana. Services will follow visitation at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Roysden officiating. Cremation will take place. www.LooseCares.com.
