Sunday, June 23, 2024, our sweet angel, Claire Louise Gordon, was called home by the Lord with all of her family by her side.
Her time on this earth was short, but her impact was huge, and there will be a Claire shape void in our lives until we are reunited in heaven one day. We know she is peacefully waiting for us there, and eating all the gummy candies she could want.
Claire has battled for the last three and half years with cancer. Nonetheless, she did such with strength, grace, beauty and laughter. She showed us all how to enjoy every moment we get on this plane no matter what the circumstance. She loved life and everything about it and did nothing blandly. Her favorite thing was to create art with her hands, leaving her imprint on everything she touched. She had a strong love of animals and was hoping to be a vet when she got older. She loved to travel and see new places, try new foods, experience new things. She was brave, fearless, and had a heart as big as the ocean.
She is survived by her twin brother, Mason Gordon, and her father and mother, Mark and Tina (Olds) Gordon; her grandparents Paul and Peggy Gordon of Buel Township and Glenn and Patty Olds of Applegate; her aunts and uncles Heather and Jason Roelant, Heidi and Joe Lilly, and Sheena and Eric Allen; her cousin and their "triplet", Cameron Lilly, another cousin Lucas Allen, and great-grandma Clara Bolsby. Finally, she is survived by her "sister from another family" Shelby Nunn.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, June 28, at the Croswell Wesleyan Church. Pastor Jerry Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in the Croswell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 2-9 PM Thursday, and 10-11 Friday at the Croswell Wesleyan Church.
We want to thank the community for your unwavering support of Claire and our family over the years. Even when we were hundreds of miles away, the prayers, cards, messages and support never stopped. The name Claire means "clear light" and she was just that. She touched so many hearts in the community and we pray that you all continue to shine her light that she passed on to you.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family to be distributed amongst the numerous charities that have helped Claire and Mason along this journey
