Claire Marie McNiff, 61, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, NY. She was born on September 16, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Johanna DeLaura and Thomas Morrissey.
She is survived by her loving husband Kevin McNiff, and their children; Liam McNiff and Olivia McNiff of Kingston, NY, her brother, Paul Morrissey and his wife Jeana, of Payson, AZ and her father Thomas Morrissey of Payson, AZ. Her uncle, Thomas Buglisi and aunt, Dorothy Buglisi of West Hurley, NY. Her cousins, Jennifer Buton of Woodstock, NY and Claudine Buglisi of Menlo Park, CA. She is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Claire is preceded in death by her mother, Johanna DeLaura and youngest brother, Thomas Morrissey.
Claire enjoyed her time with friends, family and working at various restaurants within the Woodstock and Kingston area.
In 1987, she met the love of her life, Kevin. They spent the next 37 years together and for 37 years her face lit up everytime he walked into the room. They were steadfast in their loyalty to each other. Above all, her greatest joy was raising their two beautiful children, Liam and Olivia. She was a loving and attentive mother. Claire loved spending time with the family, especially the summer getaways at the Jersey Shore with her husband, Kevin and children.
Claire lived a life led by her love of laughter and strong fiery spirit. No matter the circumstance, you’d still catch Claire with her beautiful, contagious smile. She had an artistic nature about her, handy in crafts of all kinds. She was a determined woman, strong in her faith to face her obstacles in life. Remembered for her beauty, not only inside but out to all who were blessed to have known her. Her presence will be missed by all who mourn her passing. She was a one-of-a-kind inspiration to all, and will be dearly missed.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. Family and friends may visit on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm. A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11am at St Joseph’s, 242 Wall St., Kingston, NY 12401. Donations in Claire’s memory may be made to Ulster County SPCA at www.UCSPCA.org.
Thank you to all of the staff at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care and compassion for Claire during her time there.
