Claire T. Silverman, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA, at the age of 100.
Born on May 15, 1924, in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia, Claire grew up in Elkins Park before moving to Glenside, where she resided for 60 years after marrying her beloved husband, the late Lewis R. "Dick" Silverman.
A graduate of Cheltenham High School and Arcadia University, then known as Beaver College, Claire was a diligent and dedicated secretary in the financial services industry. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of her professional life, Claire found joy and companionship in ballroom dancing with Dick, cherishing each step they took together. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles.
Claire's legacy lives on through her devoted children, Virginia Childs and her husband Robert of Churchville, and Richard Silverman and his wife Terrie of Palm Harbor, FL. She was the proud grandmother of Brian Childs and his wife Jenna, and Wendy Faracchio and her husband Michael. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandson, Weston Childs.
In remembering Claire, we celebrate a life well-lived, rich in love, and full of cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
