Clarabelle R. (Belle) Mongan Banzhoff, 84, of Smithsburg, MD went to be with the Lord and reunited with her husband of 60 years, Chub, on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Doey's House, Hagerstown MD. Born on Saturday, December 28, 1940, in Leitersburg, MD. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Annie Mongan of Leitersburg, MD.
She was employed at Hagerstown Book-binding and Printing for many years, also the Smithsburg Market and the Christian Light Bookstore. She was a stay-at-home mother and babysat other families' children.
Belle was a loving wife and mother till the time of her passing. She was also a wonderful friend to many people, never meeting a stranger. She was a founding member of the Paramount Brethren in Christ Church, serving in different ways at the church, as Deacon's wife, choir member, Sunday School teacher, and church historian. She was highly active within the Smithsburg community with the Leopard Boosters, Band Boosters, Scout Troop 14, and the Smithsburg Little League.
Belle was preceded in death by her husband, Keller (Chub) Banzhoff. They were married on April 20, 1957.
Belle is survived by three sons; Timothy Banzhoff and wife, Gina; James Banzhoff and wife, Misty; Joseph Banzhoff and wife, Christina; brothers Ken Mongan and George Mongan; sisters Evelyn Grove and Millie Rodgers; grandchildren, Shannen (Banzhoff) Carbaugh and husband Rennes Carbaugh, Joshua Banzhoff, Jared Banzhoff, Brelyn Guyer, Gabby Howard and husband Dylan, and Christian Howard and wife Kelsey Howard; great grandchildren, Malachi Downing, Violette, River, and Phoenix Howard-Eberhard and Bentley and Spencer Howard. Also, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews who all loved Aunt Belle.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Myers, one brother, Clyde Mongan, and one grandson, Dylan Guyer.
Service arrangements; the family will receive family, friends and visitors on Tuesday, April 15th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00, at the Paramount Brethren in Christ Church, 19106 Longmeadow Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21742. Followed by internment at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Belle Banzhoff to Paramount Brethren in Christ Church, 19106 Longmeadow Rd., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD.
