Clarence "Burkett" L. Burkett III, age 54, of Sigel, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 20, 2025. Clarence was born in
Brookville, PA, on May 8, 1971, to the late Clarence L. Burkett Jr. and Bertha D. (States) Burkett.
Clarence was a 1991 graduate of Brookville High School in
Brookville, PA and Jeff Tech Vocational School in Reynoldsville, PA, with a specialized trade in metal fabrication.
Clarence was employed as a grinder at the Reynoldsville Casket Factory in Reynoldsville, PA and later spent many years working as a welder at Miller Fabrication Solutions in
Brookville, PA.
On August 17, 1996, in Sigel, PA, Clarence married his best friend, greatest supporter, and the love of his life, Jeannine (McCool) Burkett; she survives. For over twenty-nine years, they were blessed to have lived a life they built together, raising their sons.
Clarence was Methodist by faith, a past member of the Knox Township Fire Department in Knox Dale, PA, and a lifetime member of the Sigel Volunteer Fire Department in Sigel, PA.
Clarence was a true outdoorsman who spent his leisure time hunting, fishing and boating. He always looked forward to family picnics, holiday dinners, summertime campfires, and fireworks in his backyard. Clarence thoroughly enjoyed food and savored the moments when he was able to eat. Family trips to the beach in Lake Erie, or to the Waldameer Amusement Park, or the Pittsburgh Zoo all held special memories for him.
Clarence was a devoted family man to his loving wife and sons. His kind heart and unwavering devotion truly defined him. Those close to him, including his family and circle of friends, will deeply feel his absence and cherish his memory.
In addition to his wife Jeannine, Clarence is survived by two sons; Gregory P. Burkett (significant other, Meriah), Brian D. (Marcy) Burkett; one sister; Tina (Mark) Shumaker of Emlenton, PA; his cat; Booger and his stray cat; Miss Fluff (Burkie's friend); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by one son in 1997; baby Cody Burkett.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd.,
Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held following the viewing also at the Carrier Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 pm and officiated by Pastor John Green. After the service, there will be a procession to the Sigel Volunteer Fire Department, 9234 Rt. 949, Sigel, PA 15860 where a Fireman's Service will be conducted in honor of Clarence.
Interment will take place privately at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd.,
Brookville, PA 15825. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clarence's name to the Sigel Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 97, Sigel, PA 15860 or to the
