Virginia Raye (Miller) McKinley, age 95, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born in Rimersburg, PA, on December 12, 1929, to the late Arthur Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Carberry) Miller.
Virginia began working at multiple jobs when she was fifteen years old. She initially worked at the bullet factory in Butler, PA, before taking on roles at a diner, school custodian, and as a cook/waitress at the 76 Truckstop in Strattanville, PA.
Viriginia married her true love, Carl W. McKinley, on October 9, 1948, in Clarion, PA, he preceded her in death. The couple had a loving marriage of mutual love and loyalty to each other. She was a long-time member of the Kahletown Community Church in Sigel, PA, and later a member of the Allen Mills Church in Hazen, PA.
Virginia participated in a variety of activities that centered around music, including singing, playing the guitar, and yodeling. She loved listening to country and gospel music; as well as reading her Bible. Virginia also enjoyed spending time outdoors, mowing her lawn, swimming, or simply relaxing on a beautiful day.
Virginia's family was always her top priority, and she cherished the memories she made with her loved ones. She consistently provided her children with support in all of their accomplishments throughout their lives. Those that loved her will deeply miss her and always cherish her memory.
Virginia is survived by three daughters; Debra L. (Roderick) Jones; Wendy L. (Daniel) Bauer, and Elizabeth A. Buffington; seven grandchildren; Virginia (Scott) Dalton, Peggy (Scott) Burton, Tammy (Joseph) Thornton, Danielle (Stephen) Reigle, William (Tamara) Bauer, Amanda (Steve) Kuhn, Frank (girlfriend, Chelsea Chestnut) Rossman; seventeen great-grandchildren; Emma Burkett, Brice Burkett, Alexis Burton, Dylan Burton, Amber Thornton, Tony Thornton, Zane Dederick, Kayla Dederick, Brianna Thornton, McKinley Reigle, Sebastian Bauer, Levi Bauer, Melody Kuhn, William Kuhn, Jace Rossman, Aurora Rossman, Gunner Rossman; five great-great-grandchildren; Joshua Krenzer, Chyler Thornton, Olivia Thornton, Theodore Thornton, Carter Batley; and her beloved Yorkie, Andy.
In addition to her parents and husband Carl, Virginia was preceded in death by one daughter; Connie Wessel; sons-in-law; Jim Wessel and Dave Buffington; one grandson; Kyle Rossman; her siblings; Lee Miller, Evelyn Fike, Bill Miller, Frank Miller, Jenny Swartz, Johnny Miller. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1 pm - 6 pm at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing also at the Carrier Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 pm and officiated by Bishop Jay Croyle.
Interment will take place privately at the Cedarview Memorial Park Cemetery, Strattanville, PA, Clarion Twp., Clarion Co., PA. Arrangements are under the care of the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale, Rd., Brookville, PA 15825.
