NORWOOD - A Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence Elbridge Cutler, 91, a resident of 4 Walnut Street, Norwood, NY, will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church on September 10, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Moreau presiding. Burial will follow the mass in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Mr. Cutler, born in Norwood on January 5, 1933, to Ethel Anna Randall and Clarence Albert Cutler, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 3, 2024, at his residence in Norwood, NY. He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Martha Rebecca (Planty) Cutler, and his children: Timothy, Thresa (Dan Dailey), Rebecca (Sean McCarthy), Christine (Randy Campbell), Peter (Amy Young), and a daughter-in-law, Renee (Pettinelli) Cutler. In addition, he is survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear relatives. He was predeceased by three sons, Paul, David, and Mark, and a daughter-in-law, Sue Anne (Woznicki) Cutler.
Mr. Cutler, a graduate of Norwood School, served with honor in the United States Army, including a deployment to Korea. After contributing to the construction of the St. Lawrence Seaway Eisenhower Lock and working at the Potsdam papermill, he ultimately retired after many years of service in facilities at Clarkson University. Notable personal achievements include serving as an instructor in American Kang Duk Won Karate with the rank of third-degree black belt, as well as work in Eucharistic ministries and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Clarence leaves an enduring legacy of unwavering dedication to the Catholic faith, demonstrated by a profound love for the Lord Jesus Christ and steadfast commitment to his beloved wife and family. Memorial donations in Clarence's memory can be made to St. Andrew's Church and memories and condolences may be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com.
