Claude Calvin Collins

Claude Calvin Collins, age 86, of Dunwoody, GA passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025. He was born in Robbinsville, NC with his twin brother Clyde Alvin Collins on July 22, 1938, to Ed and Bessie Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and son and daughter-in-law, Jed and Marsha McNatt.
Claude spent most of his adult life in the Atlanta area. He retired from Home Depot in 2008. He was a lifelong Christian and in his later life was a member at First Baptist of Atlanta. God was an integral part of his life. He felt that it was important enough that he sent his children to Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, GA.
Claude served at Little Rock Air Force Base from 1956 - 1960. Claude and Mary Beth were married on June 22, 1958, in Little Rock, Arkansas. They were married for 66 years and raised their three girls in Atlanta beginning in 1969. Jed McNatt joined their family in 1974 and was like a son to them.
Claude is survived by his wife, Mary Beth, daughter, Susan (Clark) Miller of Peachtree Corners, GA, Stephanie (Neil) Thompson of Oak Ridge, TN, and Sandi (Ken) Sellers of Madison, AL. Eleven grandchildren, David (Catie) Thompson, Heather (Kyle) Wood, Eddie (Alexandria) Thompson, Daniel (Hannah) Miller, Steve (Anna) Sellers, Melody (Christian) Williams, Mary Katherine (Geoff) Card, Molly McNatt, Matthew Thompson, Allison Sellers, and Max McNatt, and eight great-grandchildren along with many other loving family members. His family was his greatest blessing.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Corners Chapel in Peachtree Corners, Georgia at 1:00 PM. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 PM. The family will have a private burial service at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, March 3rd, 2025.
