Claudia Wong, 64, passed away on May 10, 2025, after a courageous four-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Born in Macau, Claudia was a beloved family matriarch who dedicated her life to her loved ones as her family was the center of her world.
Claudia was passionate about cooking and traveling the world – experiences she often shared with her family and friends, creating indelible memories. She showed her love most clearly through her cooking; to many, she'll be remembered for introducing exotic flavors and serving unforgettable meals. But to those closest to her, food was only the beginning. Her wise guidance and unconditional support were the foundation of the love she so generously gave. She always put others before herself – especially her children and family – and found joy in every small act of care.
In addition to her family, Claudia was just as committed to Scarinci & Hollenbeck, where she worked for 25 years and was well-respected for her dedication and hard work.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Frank Wong; children, Kelly Sullivan and her husband Benjamin, Nicholas and his wife Joanna, and Nathan; grandchildren, Nico, Colton, and Ava; siblings, Shung Kwok and his wife Sharon, Shung Chi and his wife Grace, and Shung Kee and his wife Nancy; and many nieces and nephews whom she considered as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Yee Tak Chiu and Sou Fong Woo.
Claudia's family will receive friends Saturday, May 17th from 10AM to 2PM at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10065 in memory of Claudia Wong
