Funeral services for Clayton Bynum will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah.Clayton Martin Bynum was born September 28, 1939 in Castle, Oklahoma to George David Bynum and Opal Irene (Casey) Bynum. He died Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home in Okemah at the age of 85.Clayton was a longtime resident of Okemah and a 1957 graduate of Okemah High School. He worked many years as a carpenter and later, after retirement, he drove the school bus for Okemah Schools. Clayton and June Baker were married on June 30, 1990 in Okemah. Clayton enjoyed gardening and reading.He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol Bynum; one son, Andy Bynum; two daughters, Jill Bynum and Cammy White; step-daughter, Rhonda Kinslow and one sister, Charlene Underwood.Survivors include his wife, June Bynum of the home; one daughter, Missy White and husband Randy of the Philippines, step-daughters, Sherry Welt and husband Scott of Shawnee and Lori Smart and husband Ryan of Okemah; two step-sons, Todd Ragsdale and wife Tammy of Okemah and David Ragsdale and wife Patricia of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Cletta Kinnear and husband Kenneth of Meeker; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Smart, Todd Ragsdale, David Ragsdale, Scott Welt, Larry Kinslow and Cable Gaskill.Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.Online condolences may be made at www.ParksBrothersFuneralHome.com.
