Cleora Loree (Herold) Ulbrich, age 80, of Girard, KS, died August 2, 2025 at her home.

She was born on September 6, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA to Kenneth E. and M. Ethel (Dennis) Herold. She grew up Altamont, KS and graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1962. She attended college at Bob Jones University and Labette Community College.

She married Norman Charles Ulbrich on August 20, 1966 in Altamont, Kansas. He survives of the home. In 1968, they moved to Denver, CO. In her early 20's, she suffered a brain aneurysm, which resulted in a traumatic brain injury. This impacted her thinking and short-term memory, but she had a knack for remembering obscure events and dates, especially from her childhood and college years. She was a homemaker and held various part time jobs over the years. She later lived in Tulsa, OK and Girard, KS where she lived until her death. Most recently she attended Crossroads Baptist Church.

She was a seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, often making trivets, potholders, dishrags and other trinkets to give away to friends and relatives. She was most known for baking homemade cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed reading and watching westerns.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Norman Ulbrich; children – Elizabeth [John] Vager of Girard, KS; Susan Beck of Arvada, CO; David [Anya] Ulbrich of Falls Mills, VA; and Mary [Tom] Herrera of Brighton, CO; grandchildren, Devon, Meghan, Emily, Khyla, Tasha, Parker, Austin, and Caitlyn; great granddaughter, Marnie; and siblings - Judy Herold of Kansas City, KS and Patty Benton of Garnett, KS. A sister, Carolyn Evans and brother, Kenneth Herold, preceded her in death.

Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2025 at Crossroads Baptist Church south of Girard with Pastor Mike Buckamneer officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Thursday.

Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Bible Publication and these may be left at the service or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
