Mr. Clifford Junior Mee, a joyful spirit with a song in his heart and a twinkle in his eye, passed away peacefully after a life full of adventure, love, and laughter on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at StoryPoint Grand Ledge in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Age 99 years. Born Saturday, January 9, 1926, in Commodore, Pennsylvania, Clifford was the beloved son of Clifford and Geraldine Mee. He made his lifelong home in Lansing, Michigan, where he built his legacy.

In his youth, Clifford sang in the National Boys Choir and proudly attended the 1939 World’s Fair. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy in 1946 and served on Wake Island in the Pacific, closing out the final chapter of World War II with honor and dedication.

After returning home, Clifford worked in machining and manufacturing at John Beam and Fisher Body, providing steady hands and hard work to support his growing family. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Joyce, who remained his queen until her passing in 1994. Together, they created a family whose roots now stretch wide and deep—Clifford is survived by 2 sons, 4 daughters, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews. Altogether, he proudly claimed responsibility for bringing 58 lives into this world.

Clifford was a man of many passions—camping, fishing, hunting, floating peacefully down a river, and cheering for MSU basketball and football. A lifelong Spartan fan, he regularly attended the Tom Izzo Radio Show and joyfully celebrated his 90th birthday there. He could often be found with a golf club in hand or surrounded by family, laughing over a game or a tall tale. He loved nature, traveling, and singing quirky, old songs that always brought a smile. Never one to take life too seriously, Clifford delighted in making others laugh with his old-timey jokes and sayings such as, “No one gets out of this world alive.” And though he rarely looked his age, he always enjoyed the game of getting others to guess it. A proud Navy veteran, Clifford cherished his recent trip with the Honor Flight—a heartfelt tribute to his wartime service and a memory he held dear.

Throughout his life, many loved ones prayed earnestly for Clifford’s salvation, entrusting him to God's grace and holding hope in the promise of eternal life. These prayers, spoken in faith and love, were a reflection of the deep care and desire for his soul’s peace.

Preceded in death by his wife Joyce, three sisters, and two sons-in-law, Clifford now joins them in rest—but his songs, stories, and legacy live on in every life he touched.

He lived well, laughed often, and loved deeply. May his memory be a blessing—and may his spirit find rest in the presence of the One who makes all things new.
