Clifton "LC" Lee Johnson, Jr., 38, of Lubbock passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024. Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Agape Temple C.O.G.I.C. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Clifton Lee Johnson, Jr was born on August 13, 1985 to the parents of Clifton Johnson and Dorothy Johnson.
He began playing drums at the age of 2. He came to know Christ at an early age while attending Agape Temple COGIC under the Jurisdiction of Bishop William H. Watson II. He received his public education through Lubbock Independent School District, graduated class of 2003 from Estacado High School. He attended Eastern New Mexico University for three years and went on to graduate from Texas Tech University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Electronic Media and Communication. He also attended Full Sail University earning his Master’s Degree. He was a part of the Urban League of Central Florida, the SAG Actors Guild, Life of an Actor, My Black Orlando, 100 Black Men, and Black Professional Entrepreneur Association.
He is preceded in death by great-grandmother Annie Mae Jones, grandfather Artis Johnson, grandmothers Mamie Lee Young and Ann Mae Johnson, his sister Brenda Nichols, uncles Jimmy Hollie, Johnny Johnson, and Robert Johnson, aunts Sandra Phillips, Lula Spence, and Annie Ruth Overstreet.
He is survived by one daughter Aubrey Johnson, his mother Dorothy Johnson, and father Clifton Johnson, Sr., five sisters Sheila Hollie, Ann Johnson, Michelle Hunter (Patrick), Clinosha Prox (Robblow), and Samonia Johnson, two brothers Tracy Hollie (Lisa) and Arthur Hollie (Betty). Clifton had a host of nieces and nephews that he loved to visit when in town, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clifton “LC” Johnson will be truly missed by his family and many friends he accumulated throughout his life.
