Clifton Earl Powers, 70, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024 at his home.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 3:30 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park. Pastor, Bishop Ron Lappin will officiate the service.
Clifton was a U. S. Army Veteran. He was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In 1973, he married Gladys "Louise" Parker Powers. He worked at Mestek, Incorporated for 35 years and was also the owner of After Hours Iron Works.
Mr. Powers was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Powers; father, Richard Powers and wife, Louise Powers.
Clifton is survived by stepsons Raymond Warren, Marty Warren; brothers Clinton Speight, Ricky Powers, Jeff Powers; sisters Wendy Irwin, Denise Bird, Donna Harris, Margaret Harris; brothers-in-law James Parker, Bobby Parker (Kathy); sister-in-law, Brenda Braxton; mother-in-law, Gladys Parker; several nieces and nephews; special adopted son, Dylan McClain Whitehurst. Also, special friends Savanna Whitehurst, Jackie Hart, Felix Alverez, Ralph Evans, Ed Whitehurst and Herman Linton.
The family is thankful for Gentiva Care, Jessica, Chris, Wayne, Lisa, Erica, Olivia and Jenny. Also, caregivers Andy Garris and Minnie Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pitt County Humane Society (PO Box 8121, Greenville, NC 27835) or the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina (3520 Tupper Drive, Greenville, NC 27834).
