Cody Techick of Idaho Falls, our much-loved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend left us too soon March 22, 2025. Born March 3,1995 in Idaho Falls to Timothy and Chantel Techick.
He spent his early years in Idaho Falls before moving with his family to Arco, then later to Mackay where he attended Mackay high school until 2014 and met his best friend Taezen. Throughout his young adult years, he also lived in Twin Falls and Douglas, Wyoming. He worked at various jobs including detailing cars, operating heavy equipment, and in the oil fields in Wyoming.
Cody's adventurous spirit led him to Twin Falls in 2015, where he worked delivering, picking up, and detailing rental cars. However, the call of home was strong, and he soon returned to Mackay. In 2019, he set out for Douglas, Wyoming, working as an equipment operator in the oil fields. When the world slowed down in 2020, Cody returned to the comfort of home in Mackay, spending summers working alongside his father, installing and repairing sprinkler systems.
In 2022, Cody moved to Idaho Falls and joined Knife River as a loader operator, a job that suited his strong work ethic. No matter how sore or tired he was, if there was work to be done, Cody never hesitated to roll up his sleeves and get it done.
Beyond his hardworking nature, Cody knew how to enjoy life. Living far from town fostered Cody's love for adventure he found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes, snowmobiles and boating with his brother and good friends. The mountains were his second home, and he never missed a chance to explore their rugged beauty. He had a competitive side, whether it was playing darts or racing dirt bikes, his friendly, social nature made him the life of any gathering. He loved cooking for his friends and family, especially Italian food, or just gathering for a good meal.
In 2023, Cody was overjoyed to meet his niece, who quickly became a cherished part of his life. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His adventurous spirit, generous heart, and ability to bring laughter to those around him will never be forgotten.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Timothy Techick, Terrell Techick, Lois and Edward Techick. He is survived by his mother Chantel Techick, Tyler Techick, Janice Techick and Pyper Mae Techick.
A celebration of Cody's life will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, Arco, Idaho March 29, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. Family and friends are welcome to gather at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Cody's memory by spending time outdoors, sharing stories, cooking a great meal, and embracing life's adventures-just as he always did.
