Connie D. Christian passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Grapevine, Texas. She was 83 years old. Connie was born March 29, 1941, in Opelousas, Louisiana to Acgie and Una Deshotel. She graduated from Pine Prairie High School in 1959. Connie worked as an administrator with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System for over 20 years, retiring in 1998.

Connie enjoyed watching LSU sports and cooking. Her flower garden was always the envy of friends and family, and she spent countless hours outside to ensure its beauty – having the company of her dogs to oversee her work.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Thomas G. Christian. She passed on what would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.

Connie is survived by her devoted sons, Tommy Christian and David Christian and wife, Leah; her beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Lily and Will Christian; and her great-granddaughter, Wilah Grace Johnson. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Deshotel, as well as numerous other family and friends.

The family would like to acknowledge the doctors, nurses and staff at the Lodge at Bear Creek in Grapevine, Texas and Baylor Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
