Connie June Bockas Stevens, 83, of Ogden, Utah passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2023. Connie was born on June 20, 1939, in Ogden, Utah to John and Lillian Norman Bockas. Connie attended Ogden High School where she enjoyed participating in drama and performing for her classmates. After graduating in 1957, she attended Utah State University and was an alumna of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority where she thrived in organizing social events. Connie was quite the social butterfly and was voted “Buzzer Personality of the Year” by her sophomore classmates. These associations reflect an insight into the fun aspects of her character. Fond memories and treasured friendships were made and remained a large part of her life.
In December of 1960, she married her sweetheart, Bruce Stevens. They resided in Brigham City, Utah, raising their two children, Shelley and Scott. In addition to family responsibilities, several years were spent working at Thiokol Chemical Corporation and Foothill Elementary School.
After retirement, Ogden once again became her home. She was devoted to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. One of her greatest joys was to attend their school performances, dance recitals, and sporting events. Friends, entertaining, and pursuing hobbies filled her leisure time.
Surviving are her children, Shelley (Tom) Walker of Mantua, Utah; Scott (Irlanda) Stevens of Brigham City, Utah; grandchildren, Karly Bingham, Casey Stevens, Alyssa Walker, Jenna Walker; one great-granddaughter, Selina Stevens; brother, William (Bill) Bockas who was not only her friend, but companion and caretaker for the last several years.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; her parents, John and Lillian Bockas; brother, Jack Bockas; grandson, Trent Walker, and many great friends.
A special thanks to niece, Sherrie and cousin Misti, who brought meals and made frequent visits to Connie these past few months. Also, to Shannon and Sydney with Atlas Hospice, Marti with Senior Care Authority, Jacqui, Maggie, and the staff at The Auberge for their kind care of Connie.
It was Connie’s wish to be cremated and for those left behind, to celebrate her life privately.

Connie was one if my longest standing clients and I grew to love her like a grandma. A few of my memories with her, first is her Harvey Wallbanger cake! Yum. She made me one every christmas. Id never had one before her. She introduced me to Andys greek food in ogden. She loved her family so much, often shedding a tear in memory of Trent, her grandson. Her other grandson casey who came by to help her at the house and of course that beautiful successful granddaughter karly, who always did thoughtful helpful things for connie. She loved jenna and alyssa too, thought the world of how talented they were... i remember hearing story after story of their takents. She loved her "coffees" with her girlfriends. Having a clean house. In fact one story I love to share with my current clients interested in a certain hairspray is a simple one... At the end of her appointment I asked connie if she needed any more hairspray and she replied that yes she did, I proceeded to show her the hairspray I had been using and recommended it to her... It worked good and it smelled good... But she took one look at the packaging and said "oh no, that wouldn't look good in my bathroom!" I've chuckled about that for years, wondering what the rest of her bathroom and beauty products looked like . I hope you're resting peaceful with a pain free back and beautiful dancing shoes connie!! Love you long time. - Angela
