Connie L. Ogborn, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, on May 25, 2025. She was born on March 4, 1950, in Salt Lake City, where she spent the majority of her life. On February 19, 1968, she married Gerald (Jerry) Christiansen. Though they later divorced, they shared many meaningful years and a beautiful family together.
Connie was a fiercely independent woman with a boundless love for her family, especially her grandchildren. A true do-it-yourself spirit, she took pride in everything from building homes to changing her own oil. Her green thumb was legendary, with houseplants that grew to fill entire rooms. She defied many odds throughout her life, particularly refusing to let a wheelchair define her journey, her signature strength and stubbornness seeing her through.
Known as the “social butterfly” of her neighborhood, Connie thrived in connection, conversation, and community. Her generous heart and lively personality left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Wenerstrom; her son Jerry Christiansen, Jr.; her brothers James Ledbetter and Dave (Tammy) Ledbetter; her grandchildren David Wenerstrom, Jr., Chastin Schoeninger, and Kristyn Paul.
She is reunited in peace with her beloved son Chris Christiansen and grandson Tyler Wenerstrom.
Connie’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and the joy of living on your own terms. She will be deeply missed.
