Constance Lynn Carlson

ROCKFORD – Constance Lynn Carlson, age 80, of Rockford passed away peacefully at home Wednesday April 5, 2023. Born in Rockford on March 21, 1943 the daughter of Lowell Eugene & Marguerite Mildred Rolig (Reece). A 1961 graduate of West High School, Constance then attended St. Anthony School of Nursing from 1961-1964. After graduation in August of 1964 she married David Lee Carlson. She worked for many years at doctor offices at the University of Chicago School of Medicine, Pediatrics Home Services for 18 years and before retiring 4 years at Milestone Inc. A devoted volunteer, she helped with events at the Salvation Army and Keep Northern IL Beautiful. Constance was passionate about cooking, as well as eating. She enjoyed traveling with her Road Scholars Group and loved attending & learning new ideas and activities at the Center of Learning & Retirement workshops, as well as participating in numerous classes at The Clearing. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, she will remain forever in our hearts.
She is survived by children, Nicole (Ron) Perrine, Molly Higgins, Colby Carlson and Nils Carlson; sister, Carol Robb; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle) Perrine, Gregory (Kris) Perrine, Thomas & Tessa Higgins; great grandchildren, Cohen, Evan, Caleb, Norah, Campbell and Ariette; and numerous nieces & nephews. Predeceased by parents; and sister, Kathryn Rolig.
Memorial Luncheon will be held Sunday June 4, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Lino's Restaurant, 5611 E State St, Rockford. Cremation rites accorded. Christenson Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
A special Thank You to the staff, residents and choir at Wesley Willows for welcoming our mother. She was very happy to be there.
