Constance "Connie" Batchik Obituary

Constance "Connie" Jean Batchik, age 91, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on August 2, 2025.

Born on May 27, 1934, in Dearborn, Michigan, Connie was the beloved daughter of Stella and Michael Jesion. Her early years were filled with family, faith, music, and a love for golf-a passion passed down from her father that remained with her throughout her life.

Connie graduated from the University of Detroit in 1956 with a Bachelor of Education. That same summer, she married the love of her life, Michael Batchik. She began her career teaching middle school and later found her calling as a preschool teacher at Haviland Elementary in Waterford Township, where she inspired generations of young learners for over 20 years.

A lifelong learner and educator, Connie returned to higher education and earned her Master's in Education from Oakland University in 1998. She went on to start her own business, Music & Motion, helping children become better students through song, rhythms and movement-combining her love of teaching children with her passion for music.

Connie led an active and adventurous life. She enjoyed golfing, skiing, bicycling, and traveling. She skied the Swiss Alps, walked the volcanic black sand beaches of Hawaii, and swam in the Dead Sea, embracing every opportunity to explore the world. She was an avid reader, often immersed in several books at once. As an accomplished pianist, she regularly played during weekday masses at St. Patrick's Church. As a pilot, in 1992, she took flying lessons and proudly soloed in a Cessna aircraft-an achievement that reflected her fearless spirit and zest for life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Michael; children: Michael G. Batchik (Jodi), Robert Batchik (Mary), Christopher Batchik (Carel), Patrice Tompkins (Douglas), and Michele Parvizi (Mahmoud). She was treasured by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michael J. Batchik, Nicole Ribbens, Molly Batchik, Kristin Batchik, Anna Batchik, Christopher Tompkins, Emma Tompkins, Matthew Tompkins, Parviz Parvizi, Oskar Parvizi, Benjamin Batchik, Louis Ribbens, Sidney Ribbens, Stella Ribbens, and Ruby Ribbens.

Connie's favorite color was yellow-bright, cheerful, and optimistic-just like her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and her Independence Village community. Let us remember Connie as she was: a beacon of light and love in all of our lives.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, located at 340 N Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake, MI 48390. A rosary prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM.

Funeral mass will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM (In state at 10:00 AM) at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, located at 9086 Hutchins Road, White Lake, MI 48386. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Open Door Outreach Center where Connie volunteered for many years.
