Cora June Kertis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cora June Kertis, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Community of Rosemount Minnesota. Cora joined our Lord on February 13, 2025, at the age of ninety-four and is survived by her husband of 71 years Charles Kertis, daughters Char (Tom) Bumol, Laurie (Dave) Sullivan and Lynette Kertis. She was a loving grandmother to her three grandsons- Joel Bumol (Danielle), Stefan Bumol (Elia) and Aaron Lomicka (Brittany) and a doting/loving great-grandmother to Jude, Levi, Scottie, Micah, Elowyn, and Callie. Cora also cherished her many close friends whom she made over many decades in her community of Rosemount where her loving spirit and ability to listen amused and comforted many leaving a memorable and positive impact. Cora was very proud of her "Newfie" heritage as she grew up in Newfoundland, Canada where she met her husband working on Harmon Air Force Base.
Cora was a strong woman of faith until the end and an active member of her church including volunteering in the library at St. Joseph school, the Loaves and Fishes program, a greeter at mass services and a volunteer for meals at countless funeral receptions. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes Donate - Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes. Mass offerings for the repose of her soul would also be appreciated. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM February 28th at St Joseph's Catholic Church (13900 Biscayne Ave West, Rosemount, MN 55068) prior to her Catholic Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. A luncheon reception to celebrate and remember Cora's life will follow the service.
