Coy Leo Scott, 75, of Gaston, passed away at his residence on June 1, 2024. He was born February 9, 1949, in McDowell County, WV, to the late Dock Everette Scott and Glenna Mae Farley Scott.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Scott; sister, Goldie Simmons; and brother, Willie Scott.
Coy visited Gaston Baptist Church, in Dallas, NC. He loved his family, and he enjoyed being around his brothers and sisters, who shared a close bond together. He loved animals, especially dogs and chickens. Coy was the happiest working in his garden and driving his tractor. He served in the US Army in the Vietnam War, in 1969, after going through basic training at Fort Bragg.
Left to cherish his memories are his brothers, Jack Scott (Tracy), Jesse Scott; sisters, Frances Scott, Sadie Pence, and Pearley Lee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Coy’s Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Richard Gaddis officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Gaston Baptist Church, 504 S Gaston St, Dallas, NC 28034.
