Craig Reuse, 76, of Grayslake, Illinois passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024 surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Craig was born in Chicago to Harry Otto Reuse and Bernice Carlson Reuse on January 8, 1948 and was the second of 4 children. He was a beloved father, brother and friend, and led a life of dedication and service.
Craig proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, embodying the spirit of patriotism throughout his life. Following his military service, he became a Carpenter by trade. After he retired, Craig committed himself to his community, becoming a cherished volunteer known affectionately as "Cowboy Craig". Over 14 years, he graciously donated over 23,000 hours of service at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), where his contributions made a significant impact on countless lives.
Craig was known for his warm heart, steadfast dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved the cowboy lifestyle and embodied the values attached to it; God, Family & Country were of utmost importance to him. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Symonds Lakes Funeral Home, 111 West Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030, followed by a military service at 5:00 pm to honor Craig's lifelong commitment to his country and community.
