Craig Sabee, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 14, 1945, in Detroit, the son of Reinhardt and Lois (Haugh) Sabee. He honorably served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, stationed in Germany. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and his Master's degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Craig was united in marriage to Pamela Sprague on January 22, 1972, in Appleton.
Craig worked for the R. Sabee Company for 50 years, starting at age 12. He retired at 62, and moved to the Lake, where he worked part-time for Performance Solutions, designing and building machines for their clients. He and Pamela moved back to town in 2017 and he worked part-time for the Census Bureau until he passed.
Craig was an avid woodcarver and woodworker, creating treasures for family and friends. He and Pamela enjoyed golfing, sailing, ballroom dancing, and wine tasting. Craig and Pamela were the family genealogists, often traveling all over to find the information. He was a Wisconsin sport team enthusiast and a lifelong Packers fan, attending hundreds of games.
Craig will be remembered most for his love of his family and his Basset Hounds. He and Pamela had a strong and beautiful partnership in everything for 50+ years. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, and let them know it. Craig was kind, compassionate, hardworking, and dependable.
Craig is survived by his wife: Pamela; 3 children: Christina (Nathan Dintenfass) Sabee, Eric (Elizabeth) Sabee, and Ross (Vanessa M.) Sabee; 4 grandchildren: Dylan and Kai Sabenfass, and Ethan and Escher Sabee; 2 siblings: Michael (Marian) Sabee and Sherry (Dennis) Ahlman; nieces and nephews: Dwight Sabee, Pamela McAvoy, Tony Donovan, and Maria Harland; cousins: Dr. Bill (Sally) Carriere, Dick (Linda) Reinhardt, Steve (Chris) Sabee, Val (Craig) Macho; other relatives and friends.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Ryan Sabee; nephew: Joe Donovan; niece: Penny Sabee; and a cousin: Judy Reinhardt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. Appleton. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
Thank you Craig for "single handedly saving Europe" during his military service.

Pam,
Just wanted you to know that Tom and Cathy and I are lifting you up in our prayers. I'm so glad we have kept in touch. I will continue to have in my memories the times I was able to share with Craig and how happy the two of you obviously were. His smile was indeed contagious! Sending you all our love and I'm hoping we can connect soon. God bless you and comfort you.
Shalom,
Ted (on behalf of there VandeBerg family)
