A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA for Curtis Joseph Dupre, Sr., who passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital in Lafayette.
Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will resume on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 8:30 am until the time of service.
A Rosary will be recited by Angelle Lege on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 6:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home.
Entombment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, LA.
Father Gilbert Dutel, Retired Priest of Lafayette, will officiate.
Curtis J. Dupre Sr., was born June 20, 1934, in Ritchie, LA and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. He graduated from Iota High School in Iota, LA. After high school, Curtis earned his Bachelor's degree in the Study of Geology, from SLI, presently known as University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Curtis worked as a salesman in the oil industry until his retirement. He was active in his community and was a member of Lafayette Boat Club and Lafayette Oilmen's Bass Fishing Club in Lafayette. Curtis was a fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Butte La Rose. He was a harmonica player who played tunes for every-one's enjoyment. Curtis found great joy in watching college and NFL sports. Family meant everything to Curtis, and he leaves a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.
Curtis is survived by his son, Curtis "Joey" Joseph Dupre, Jr., and his wife, Theresa, of Kingwood, TX; two step-daughters, Ronta Bellard and her husband, Steven, of Lafayette, LA and Patrice Lane Monique, of Scott, LA; his sister, Ivy Mae Vidrine and her husband, Roderick, of Lake Charles, LA; two grandchildren, Madeline Dupre Wagner and her husband, Matthew and Eric Dupre, both of Houston, TX; two great-granddaughters, Avery Rose Dupre and Riley Marie Dupre and several dear nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 25 years, Mary Broussard Dupre; his parents, Martin and Helena Klumpp Dupre; his two brothers, Martin "Luke" Dupre, Jr., and Renes Dupre and his sister, Lina Dupre.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital of Lafayette, especially Dr. Kenneth Spiller, and Dr. Vernon Valentino for the compassionate care given to Curtis and his family.
