Curtis Festus Jones, age 81 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born on July 17, 1943, in Princeton, AL to the late William Gentry and Cora Estelle (Mullican) Jones. Curtis retired after many years of long-haul truck driving. He enjoyed spending time by the lake camping and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Stanton (Patsy) Jones and Paul C. Jones; and nieces-in-law, Becky Jones and Loraine Duckett. Curtis is survived by his children, Matthew Jones, Michael Jones, Tabitha Jones and Bridgett (Alvin) Watts; grandchildren, Michael Pauley, Derrick Jones, Jeffery Jones, Brian Jones, Tommy Jones and Katelynn Jones; great-grandchildren; Hunter, Roddy, Clarakate, Silas and Amelia; siblings, Shirley (Allen) Duckett and Gaye (Charley) Payne; sister-in-law, Marilyn Jones; nieces and nephews, Sonya (Dave) Johnston, Carey Jones, Brian (Gina) Jones, Carolyn (Ron) Derting, Mark Duckett, Alice (Robert) Chetwood, Nathan (Tonya) Payne, and Julie (Andrew) Scott; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. Visitation for Curtis will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Oaklawn Baptist Church with a celebration of life following at 2:00pm with Bro. Ray Gardner officiating.
