Curtis Durant McDaniel was 62 years of age and resided in Portland, Oregon. He was pronounced dead the morning of December 21st, 2022 in his sleep. He went peacefully in his Water Front Apartment.
Curtis McDaniel was born July 31st, 1960 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Parents of Curtis Ordrien McDaniel and Shirley Jean Toliver.
Curtis lived in the West Hills of Portland and once he sold this home, he moved to the Water Front area off the Willamette River which was a dream of his, providing him with great views.
Curtis served in the U.S. Coast Guards and was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi. Curtis received an Associates Degree while attending College in Northern Idaho on a Track and Field Scholarship.
Curtis was a true worker, working 2 jobs at times. Curtis worked as a Multnomah County Sheriff, Tri-Met, Northwest Airlines and Delta Airlines, along with working for New Seasons Grocery Store.
Some of Curtis' favorite things to do was to go to concerts and Sporting events. Curtis had a love for running as well. Curtis was always on the go after his work schedule to catch a Music event in the evening and/or Sporting event, loving the downtown area of Portland.
Curtis surviving Siblings are: Brother – Ordrien McDaniel, Sister – Rosoland Henderson and Brother – Chuck McDaniel.
There will be a viewing time on January 4th, 2023 (Wednesday) between 10 AM – 11 AM, prior to the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Mt. Scott Funeral Home. Address of: 4205 S.E. 59th Ave, Portland, OR.
There will be a reception following the service for family and friends to gather, which will be proceeded by a Military Honors Service at 1:45 PM at Willamette National Cemetery, which is the Burial Site. Address of: 11800 S.E. Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, OR 97086. This is open for all to attend as well.
Curtis was a positive person even through his Diagnosis of ALS. He will always be remembered and never forgotten!
