Curtis L. Wilder, a dedicated member of the True Vine Revival Center who became Pastor in 2024. A faithful employee from SARTA, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024. Born on August 1, 1957, Curtis attended Timken High and was a proud 1975 graduate of Perry High School. He was an all-sports enthusiast, especially for the Cleveland Browns and the Cavs.
Curtis was preceded in death by his grandparents Willie Wilder Sr., Bernice Wilder, Walter Laney, and Josabelle Laney; father-in-law Ronald Webb; mother-in-law Carmelita Webb; great-nephew William Harvey; sister-in-law Crystal Gilchrist; and wife Denise Wilder. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Tonya Wilder; father Pastor Willie Wilder; mother Lois Wilder; children Curtis Jr. (Wendy) Wilder, Curissa Wilder, Melissa Wilder, Camron (Lovely) Wilder, Bryce Wilder, Brandon (Renee) Everett, Joyelle Sumpter, Peyton "PJ" Sumpter, Gyasi Evans, Ronita (Deangelo) Stride, and Willie Evans Jr.; siblings Phyllis Milini, Rachel Currie-Wilder, David Wilder Sr., Andrianne (Ken) Washington, Crystal Calloway, and Joy Evans; sisters-in-law Cynthia Phillips, Monique (Melvin) Cain, Yahyana Patrick, and Aisha Webb;36 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
As a respected figure in his community and beloved by many, Curtis' journey will be commemorated in a Funeral Service at the Pentecostal Temple Church 718 Henrietta Ave NE Canton, OH on November 14, 2024, at 11:00 am with Apostle Anicia Clayton officiating. Prior to the service, a Calling Hours/Visitation will be held at the same church at 10:00 am on the same day with last view to be at 10:55 am. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery.
Curtis Wilder's legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will always be remembered for his kind spirit, unwavering faith, and passion for life. May his memory be a blessing to all who mourn his loss.
