It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia O. Bess, affectionately known as Cindy, who left us too soon on November 30th, 2023. Born on December 9th, 1966, in Philadelphia, PA, where she lived all her life, Cynthia was just shy of her 57th birthday. This charismatic lady, known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, had a way of lighting up any room she entered. She was a courageous woman who embodied resilience and never backed down from a challenge. Her spirit was as vibrant as her love for anime and manga, which she would often enjoy in her spare time. The same way characters battled on in her favorite shows, so did Cynthia, through all her life's trials.
Cynthia was an extraordinary woman who dedicated her life to helping others. For years, she worked tirelessly as a Certified Nurse Assistant, pouring her loving and caring nature into her work. She was a passionate cook, and her family often relished in the delightful meals she prepared with so much love. To Cynthia, her family was her world. She was the loving mother of Larry Stanfield, April Rangel, and Arthur Robinson, III and a beloved sister to Mickie Brown, Mark Bess, Denice McClain, and Junie Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Freshwater and Gloria Bess.
Cynthia's life and legacy will be celebrated on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at form 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136. Though our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life by remembering the joy she brought into our lives. We invite you to share your memories of Cynthia on her memorial page, where you can also upload photos that capture the vibrant spirit she possessed. As we remember Cynthia, let us celebrate her life, her courage, her charisma, her wit, and above all, her loving nature that touched all those around her.
