Cynthia Rose (Rullo) Salas, 74, of Houston passed away October 10, 2025. Cynthia was born July 20, 1951 in, Downey, California
She is preceded in death by Parents, George and Roseann Rullo and sister Sandra Ivory of Latrobe, Pa.
She is survived by husband Juan Carlos (John) Salas, Brother Ron Rullo, wife Martha of Tucson, Az –Brother-in-law Ken Ivory of Latrobe, Pa, Sister Georgiann, husband Dave Caskins of Houston, Tx. – Sister Darlene Huffman, husband Mark of Latrobe, Pa, Numerous nieces, nephews, and devoted friends Joe Casares, Jennifer Spurlock and Linda Fisher.
Cindi grew up in Latrobe, Pa. graduated from Latrobe High School in 1969 and moved to Houston, Texas in 1982. She earned her BS degree in Business management from LeTourneau University in Houston.
Cindi's Career began at Allegheny Energy in various engineering technician roles from 1969 – 1982.
She worked at CenterPoint Energy in a number of managerial positions from 1982 through 2019, performing in various leadership capacities, including geospatial information technology, underground line locating, land and right-of-way and street lighting and retiring as Director, Purchasing and Logistics. In 2018 she was recognized as one of the Top 30 Influential Women of Houston, receiving Congressional recognition.
From March of 2019 through November 2023 Cindi pursued her long-time love of entertaining and decorating by opening and operating "Your Cup of Tea" – a traditional English style tea Room and collectables shop. She had numerous loyal customers and made many new friends while operating her beautifully decorated tea room.
She became dedicated and was a champion for the Houston Junior Forum through the Resale shop and its cause – charitable services for children, youth, women and senior adults.
Cindi enjoyed travelling abroad, Broadway plays, entertaining, Astro's baseball, Football (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers), playing Mahjong and movie night with friends. Cindi loved her cats, Snowball and Pepper and most importantly her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM with a Prayer and personal tributes at 1:30 PM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in the Friendship Court Hall @ 12955 Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77079.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Latrobe. Pa. at Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home on October 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. prior to burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
