Cynthia Shirley Turner (8/27/1935 - 11/28/2022) was born to Enza and J.T. Shirley in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. When her mother unexpectedly passed away shortly after Cynthia's birth, her adored Aunt Mary raised her and her two siblings alongside her father.
Cynthia married Aubrey Turner in 1954 and subsequently moved to Mobile where she lived the rest of her life. She enjoyed a long career as a Dental Hygienist for Dr. Welsh Hill while also assisting her husband in developing their business, Auto Air of Alabama.
Cynthia is pre-deceased by her parents, J.T. and Mary Shirley, brother Jim Shirley, and sister Betsy Hall. She is survived by her husband Aubrey, son Neil Turner (Ginny) and daughter Carmen Fadalla (Tommy), sisters-in-law Val Shirley, Delores Owens (Bill) and Sylvia Turner, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
Cynthia was an extraordinary cook who enjoyed countless hours in her kitchen baking for family and friends. She treasured performing with the Sweet Adeline's and cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately knew her as "Granny".
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 2nd at 10am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery for family and friends.

Cynthia (and Aubrey) are wonderful neighbors! Oftentimes Cynthia would make food and bring her leftovers to us! We were so grateful, her homemade, country cooking was wonderful and such a blessing to us since we don“t cook that much. We enjoyed getting to know them both over these last few years and look forward to being "next door" to visit with Aubrey more. God bless your family as you mourn her passing. We also mourn for her!

Cynthia and I sang together with the Sweet Adelines for several years. She was so full of fun and joy. We all loved her and will miss her greatly. My sincere condolences to her beloved family.
