Dorothy Jean (McClune) Groff of Quarryville, PA, a resident at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, died on June 12, 2025, at the age of 102 years.
Born in Lancaster (Eden), PA, she preferred to be known as D. Jean Groff. She was the daughter of Millo and Maude McClune. Jean was predeceased by a brother, Ray McClune and is survived by her son, Howard E. Groff, Jr. (Diane), a brother Carl McClune (Mary); Grandchildren: Howard Groff, III (Missy), Kelly Groff and Brad Groff (Kelly); Great grandchildren: Lucas Wilson, Gabbie Groff, Brantley Groff, and Brennan Groff.
Jean was once married to Howard Groff, Sr., and even though they divorced in later years, she continued to hold him close in her heart. Together, they operated a home heating oil business in Quarryville.
Jean lived a long and meaningful life, filled with stories, strength and love. Her memory will live on in all who knew her around the table, in bonds of family, and in the love she so freely gave. She enjoyed community, friends, playing cards, antique sales, having a non-filtered Camel and a glass of boxed wine.
At the QPRC she was provided excellent care when she needed it most.
Service will be private.
