Delmar Dale Doty Jr., age 73, of Henryville, IN, passed away on May 28, 2025, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Dale was born on November 24, 1951, in Franklin, IN, to the late Delmar Dale Doty Sr. and Elizabeth Martha (McIntire) Doty. A graduate of Jennings County High School, Class of 1970, Delmar worked and retired from at Merrick Printing in Louisville, KY.
On July 21, 2007, Delmar married Linda (Feltner) Doty, who survives in Henryville, IN. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who treasured every moment spent with his family.
Dale lived a life rich in community and purpose. He was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church in Deputy, IN, and served as the former president and current board member of Mountain Grove Cemetery. He was also active in the Coffee Creek Conservation Club in Commiskey, IN.
A true outdoorsman, Dale enjoyed fishing and especially his annual fishing trip every October with is son. He also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, raising chickens, hunting mushrooms, and cheering on Indiana University sports. Known as a skilled handyman, he had a talent for fixing anything and everything. His giving spirit, tireless work ethic. He left a lasting impression on all who knew him, by his famous words "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right the first time".
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Feltner) Doty of Henryville, IN; his children, Nina (Chance) Lastra of Palm Coast, FL, and Tracy (Melissa) Doty of Scottsburg, IN; his step-children, Kevin (Paula) Brock and Hope (Sean) Hall, both of Henryville, IN; grandchildren, Alia Doty, Finnley Roach-Doty, Asher Doty, Alivia (Kyle) Allman, Avery Lytle, Ava Lytle, Cody Brock, Cody Allen Spellman, Kaylee Spellman, and Lola Hall; great-grandchildren, Vivian Allman and Corbin Brock; and his siblings, Nancy (Gerald) Neal of Queensville, IN, Elaine Leahigh of North Vernon, IN, and Doug (Lou) Doty of KY.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Gabrielle Doty; his sister and brother-in-law, Deannie (Bob) Toppee; and his brother-in-law, Bill Leahigh.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Henryville.
Memorial donations in Dale's memory may be made to Mountain Grove Cemetery Association, c/o Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 209 South Ferguson Street, Henryville, IN 47126.
