Dale Allen Wagoner, of Oklahoma City, passed from this life on March 7, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on November 2, 1955, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to James Alex & Nancy Carolyn (Padgham) Wagoner.
Dale attended Moore High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1973. The night the class was to graduate, a tornado warning went off, so none of the class were able to walk and they were all just handed their diplomas. It was a story he enjoyed telling.
Dale was employed at Southwestern Wire for 51 years. He loved his job and enjoyed working and was well-respected by his co-workers. Dale was a dedicated employee and while he was sick and taking chemo, he would still go to work.
He enjoyed fishing and going to the gun range and shooting. He also enjoyed carpentry and made beautiful bird cages. Dale also enjoyed remodeling projects and had built his own bed that he slept in.
He was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. Dale enjoyed watching Andy Griffith, MASH, The Beverly Hillbillies and Clint Eastwood.
He enjoyed being outdoors and enjoyed watching shows with mountains. Dale and Beverly enjoyed going on vacations together. They had gone to Devil's Tower, Mount Rushmore, and Yellowstone. Dale also loved going to Colorado. One of the most memorable trips was when Dale and Beverly took their granddaughter, Abby, to Yellowstone.
Dale was very serious but had a dry sense of humor and had a child-like heart. He loved being around his grandchildren, they lifted his spirit. Dale was a very generous and caring man, and he never complained. Dale had terminal cancer and Jesse said his father never complained.
He never missed his son's and grandchildren's events and helped coach Little League Baseball. Dale provided for his family and was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the most honorable, decent, caring man. He was a straight shooter, and his handshake was as good as his word.
Dale was a believer and gave his life to Christ. His neighbor, John Williams, came and prayed with him and Dale gave his life to Christ. A good friend and co-worker, Daniel Bender, would come every week and pray with Dale. His first love was being with his wife, Beverly, the love of his life for the past 46 years, and spending time with his sons, and especially his grandchildren.
Dale leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Beverly Wagoner, of the home; 2 sons, Bobby Madden, of Moore, and Jesse Wagoner & wife, Megan, of Oklahoma City; 6 grandchildren, Derrick, Dillon, Levi, Julye, Peyton, Abbygayle, Brianna, and Ryland; his mother, Nancy Wagoner, of Moore; 3 brothers, Steve Wagoner, of Edmond, Ronnie Wagoner, of Moore, and Kelley Wagoner, of Edmond; and a host of other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, James Wagoner.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the First Christian Church of Moore, located at 629 NW 12th Street, in Moore, Oklahoma. He will be laid to rest at Moore Cemetery, 800 SW 4th Street, in Moore. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
