Born on December 6, 1938, in
Talladega, Alabama, Dallas Curry, Jr. embodied a spirit of joy that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dallas, the son of Dallas Curry, Sr. and Josephine Hillard Curry, was a devoted man of faith, joining Kelly Springs Missionary Baptist Church at a young age and later becoming a cherished member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church serving faithfully until his health began to decline. His unwavering dedication to his faith shaped not only his life but also the lives of those around him. Throughout his life, Dallas, carved a successful path in the construction industry, where his skilled craftsmanship and expertise in masonry left an indelible mark on the community. He was known for his meticulous work with bricks and took immense pride in the projects he undertook, assisting family, friends, and neighbors with a generous spirit near and far. Dallas, a beloved father, brother, grandfather and cherished member of the Talladega community filled his life with family, adventure, and a love for football. Dallas was not just a talented brick mason; he was also a man of many passions. An ardent fan of Alabama football, he could often be found cheering on the Roll Tide, his laughter echoing through gatherings filled with friends and family. His weekends were spirited with NASCAR races and wrestling matches, moments that brought him joy and friendship. Dallas Curry, a beacon of love and strength in the Talladega community, journeyed peacefully from this life on September 28, 2025, at the age of 86 while surrounded by his beloved family. Once answering the Master's call, Dallas was welcomed into eternal peace with his parents, Dallas Curry, Sr. and Josephine Turner, sons, Terry Curry and Jerry Curry, wife, Odessa Curry, brothers, William Curry, Elbert Curry, Lewis Hillard, Clarence Hillard, and Constance Turner, and sisters, Barbara Fitzgerald, and Mary Best..Dallas's loving heart will live on through his beloved wife, Jeanette Curry; his three sons, Carnell Curry, Stanley (Marvalene) Elston, and Dexter Tyrone (Brenda) Lawson; his seven daughters, Vanessa (Tony Wright) Curry, Patrice Curry, Alice Faye (Bobby) Welch, Catherine Elston, Melissa (Michael) Holiday, Natasha (De'Vonte) Roberts, and Tenille Madden; grandson who he raised as his own, Rodrecko Curry; niece, Debra Jemison; bonus sons, Michael Heard, Laroye Porter, and Clevious (Carolyn) Porter; brothers, Jerry Curry, Robert Turner, and Elce Turner; sister, Daisy Prince; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.In this time of reflection, let us find comfort in the love that Dallas so generously shared, cherishing the memories we've created with him and carrying forth his legacy of joy and unwavering support.May his soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of his family and the grace of his faith.
