Damon R Fish ObituaryDamon A. Fish, age 94, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025. Born on May 25, 1931, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Damon lived a long, full life marked by service, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Damon served his country during the Korean War with honor and dignity. He remained dedicated to supporting fellow veterans throughout his life, serving as a past commander of VFW Post 3863 and a long-time member of American Legion Post 678. For many years, he participated in the Color Guard, faithfully honoring his brothers- and sisters-in-arms at countless ceremonies and events.
Damon worked hard throughout his life, retiring from both Curtis Industries and the City of Eastlake. Yet it was his vibrant spirit and love for others that truly defined him. He was famously the life of the party-quick with a joke, an impersonation, or a kind word-and he brought joy to every room he entered.
Above all, Damon cherished his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Jean E. Fish (née Morris), and the loving father of Damon (Kathy) Fish, Debra (Paul) Wilson and Louie (Lisa) Fish. He was a proud grandfather of Paul (Rosa) Wilson III, Brian (Kayleigh) Wilson, Tony (Jeanette) Fish, Amy Fish, Chris Wilson, and Mark (Kelli) Wilson, and a playful, doting great-grandfather to Hailie Wilson, Brian Wilson Jr., Josie Fish, Kamryn Wilson, Sullivan Wilson, Gracie Wilson, Scarlett Wilson, Novaleigh Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Nora Fish, and Ruby Fish.
Damon was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jean, his parents Louis and Cammila Pisciatelli (née DeSilvia), his brothers Guy, Tony, and his twin Cosmo, and his sisters Sue Gillespie, Adeline Lewis, Mary Conley, Carol Henderson, and Livia Martin.
Private services for Damon were held on Monday, July 7, at The Abbey of Willoughby. Interment took place at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
Though Damon has left this world, the warmth of his smile, the sound of his laughter, and the strength of his love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
