Dan Eugene Biggers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, left this earth on January 7, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on September 22, 1955, in Boise, Idaho, to Gene and Verna Biggers, Dan was a man whose heart was as vast as the landscapes he loved to traverse on his four wheeler, with his beloved wife by his side. His life was filled with the richness of love, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to his family and friends. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation." Dan embodied this wisdom, as he found joy in his work and seamlessly integrated it with his passion for life.
Dan was a masterful mechanic and welder, a jack of all trades who had an uncanny ability to fix just about anything. His career spanned from working on his father's logging business, operating as a mechanic and welder on the Alaskan pipeline, to commercial fishing, working at a gold mine, and even managing a gun shop. More than half of his career was spent at Thurgood Excavating where he took care of their equipment like it was his own. Despite his many professional accomplishments, Dan was humble, often attributing his success to his love for what he did and the people he served.
He was a man who loved the outdoors; whether it was riding his four-wheeler, camping with his family, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the woods. Dan's garage, a testament to his resourcefulness and foresight, was filled with items he'd collected over the years, each with the potential to be useful someday. His impeccable memory allowed him to locate any item, no matter how obscure. In the words of Albert Einstein, "The only source of knowledge is experience," and Dan, with his vast experiences, was indeed a fountain of wisdom and knowledge.
Above all, Dan cherished his family. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Jennie, his children Jesse (Trina), Jacob (Carl), Landon (Lacy), and Olivia (Sharayah), 14 grandchildren, and his brothers Corey (Jeanne), Brian (Trudie) Brett, and his many nieces and nephews. His parents, Gene and Verna Biggers, precede him in death.
In times of distress, Dan would often say, "Everything's going to be alright." His deep faith and love for the Savior were evident in his prayers, which often moved him to tears. Dan's legacy is a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience.
We invite you to share your fond memories, stories, and photos of Dan on his memorial page. As we collectively remember Dan Biggers, we celebrate a life lived fully, a man who loved deeply, and a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
