Daniel J. Baxter

Daniel J. Baxter of Kingston, NH-also fondly known as "Dan", passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born on February 4, 1959, in Haverhill, MA, to Robert and Marlene (Mangion) Baxter.
Dan was one of three children and grew up in Groveland, MA. He graduated from Pentucket High School in West Newbury with the Class of 1976. During his high school years, he was an avid athlete, playing football as a linebacker on the varsity team. He also played baseball, primarily in the outfield, and was a member of the Groveland town hockey team.
He attended the University of Rhode Island to study Marine Biology before discovering his passion for cooking. His love for the culinary arts led him to a career as a sous-chef. He worked at Clarke Cooke House in Newport, RI, and later at the renowned Locke-Ober in Boston, MA, where he was known for his exceptional culinary skills.
Dan had a deep love for travel, with Germany holding a special place in his heart. He also enjoyed frequent trips to Florida. In 1984, his family established Reynolds in Kingston, NH, where he later worked as a parts manager for some time. It was there that he met his late wife, Christina Gallo, in 1999. The couple married in 2006 and settled in Kingston, NH, where they built a life together until her passing in 2020.
Dan was a longtime resident of Kingston for over 20 years, previously living in Narragansett, RI. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Marlene Baxter; his sister, Ann Walker, and her husband, Kent; his brother, Michael Baxter, and Erica Sarcione; his nephew, Ryan Walker, and his wife, Meghan; and his niece, Jessa Walker, and her fiancé, Zack Havener.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. There will be a visiting hour beginning at 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 395 N. Broadway, Haverhill, MA 01832.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Dan's memory.
