Dr. Daniel Carter Carbaugh

Dr. Daniel Carter Carbaugh, 85, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Hilton Terrace Baptist Church, 2236 Warm Springs Rd. Columbus, GA 31904, with Rev. John Burnett and Rev. Cheryl Harris-King of Peter's Chapel AME officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Daniel was born January 22, 1937 on Kansas City, MO to the late Dr. Eugene and Sylvia Carbaugh. Dr. Carbaugh was a graduate of the University of Missouri (1986) and received his Doctorate in Economics from the University of Kansas City (1961). Following his graduation, he served in the US Navy before joining the faculty at Brewton-Parker College. He later taught at Columbus State University as a Professor of Economics. He also taught Banking and Finance at Troy State University in Phenix City, AL.
Daniel Studied at Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX and was active in various Columbus Churches; to include Bible studies at Hilton Terrace Baptist Church, where he was a member. He also worked with International Students for many years. Dr. Carbaugh was a published author and a member of the American Economic Association.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Edwards Carbaugh.
Survivors include his daughter, Danette Shell of New London, CT; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
