Funeral services for Daniel Dean Collins will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Burnett Mission Church in Paden, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Paden.
Daniel Dean Collins was born June 2, 1945 in Paden, Oklahoma to Pleze Edgar Collins and Sylvia Cecil (Morelock) Collins. He passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 77.
Mr. Collins was a lifelong resident of Paden, Oklahoma and a 1963 graduate of Paden High School. He and Clara Ruth Criner were married March 19, 1965 at the Burnett Mission Church of Paden. Mr. Collins retired after 41 years of employment from Tinker Airforce Base and was a lifetime member of the Burnett Mission Church. Church was his life. He faithfully attended and served in many areas. He was a deacon for over 50 years, served as the church secretary and treasurer for 54 years, taught Sunday School, directed the choir and led songs. He was the youth leader for many years and supporter of young people and loved children, his family and most of all his God.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel Bruce Collins; three brothers, Winford, Charles (Chock) and Bob, one sister, Vella Cheatwood and son in law, Todd Holderfield.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Ruth Collins of the home; two sons, Lyndell Collins and wife Elizabeth of McAlester and Kevin Collins and wife Rachel of Paden; one daughter, MarQueita Burnett and husband Marty of Cunningham, Kentucky; three sisters, Seleta Heard and husband Clarence of Paden, Wilma Watts and husband Sheridan of Paden and Anita Smith and husband Jerry of Prague; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 3 sisters in law, Eunice Collins, Betty Collins and Billie Jean Collins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Travis Yates, Talon Burnett, Luke Burnett, Bryson Burnett, Brettan Burnett, Jerry Heard, Brandon Rowan and Christian Garner.
Honorary bearers include David Brown, Ronnie Kellogg, Matt Tappe, Austin Peltier, Josh Cheatwood, Anthony Brewer, Jared Cooper, Allan Collins, Eddie Duke, Jared Hutson, Tommy Hinds, Bryan Logan, Chris Moore, Sam Deal, Zack Davenport, Dakota Coffman and Blake Tosh.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma.
