Mr. Daniel A. DeBurger, age 70 of Clarksville, Indiana and formerly of Madison, entered this life on October 2, 1952 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of James Edward DeBurger, PhD and Marie Frances Bolton DeBurger Tandy. Raised in Jefferson County, he was a 1970 graduate of Southwestern High School. Dan was inducted into the United States Army on August 1, 1972 in Louisville, Kentucky and served as a Specialist Four during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged on July 22, 1974 at Fort Dix, New Jersey receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He held an associate degree in radio/television. He resided the last 20 years in Clark County, Indiana. He worked for the Robley Rex Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky as the head cook for over 20 years. He also worked part-time as a DJ and worked under the name of Dan Stevens in the 1980s. He currently was working as a security officer. He loved writing poetry and had publish his works in a book called "Seven Storms" in 2020. He also enjoyed fishing, going down to the Ohio river and sitting and watching time pass by. A LOVING FAMILY
Daniel will be missed by his loving mother, Marie Frances Bolton Tandy of Evans, Georgia; his sisters, Stella L. DeBurger Bruner of Madison, Indiana, and Charlotte Riley and her husband Tom of Evans, Georgia; his brother, Mark DeBurger and his wife, Mary of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his step mother, Dr. Virginia Faye Hurst of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his nieces and his nephews, Aaron Purvis, Kevin Riley (Charlotte), Stephanie Purvis (Eric Green), Sarah Moyer (Justin), Kristopher Riley (Kim), Kenneth Riley, Jamie DeBurger (Catherine), and Josh DeBurger (Charla); his great nieces and great nephews, Amber, Aaliyah, Aurey, Aaryanna, Skylar, Riley, Vivian, Audrey, Kayleigh, Kolton, Lincoln, Gracie, Emma, Charly, Quintin, his great great nieces and great great nephews, Destani, Zane, Brysan, and Emmersyn; his close friends, Arti, John, Kevin, Carolyn, and John; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. by Deacon Mike Boggs at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana

VISITATION
Friends may visit Monday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORS
A final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
