Daniel Vincent DiCapua, Jr. 47, of New Haven died peacefully at home on November 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Haven on December 15, 1976 to Daniel DiCapua, Sr. and the late Michele Lockwood DiCapua.
Dan was a graduate of East Haven High School and had worked at Marrakech as an assembler for several years. He loved music, especially hip hop and rap. Dan loved all kinds of sports and enjoyed watching movies and playing video games. He was a very spiritual person who put his heart into everything he did.
Besides his father, Daniel is survived by his sister Tara DiCapua, brother Ryan (Marcos Almeida) DiCapua, nephews Joseph and Jordyn Zembrowski, niece Charlee Almeida DiCapua and several cousins, aunts & uncles. He is also survived by his father's companion Lorraine Persaud who provided loving care to him through the years.
Daniel's family would like to thank Yale Medicine Adult Congenital Heart Program, especially Dr. Robert Elder and Dr. Jeffrey Vinocur, his Marrakech Family and his DDS caseworker James Alio.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, December 4th from 9:00-10:30am in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place, New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church at 11:00am. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daniel V. DiCapua Jr. Trust via venmo@JZL98.
