Daniel William Heaster, 25, of Louisville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him at the Home of the Innocents.
He was brought into this world on May 22, 1999, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. From the very beginning, it was clear that his path would be unique. Daniel had a way of appreciating small things that we take for granted, such as listening to one of his favorite songs, or playing ball with his friends or family. He really loved having someone to talk to him and he wanted to make you smile and laugh.
Daniel shared a special bond with his family, especially his grandma Opal, whom he's missed for 16 years. To him, family meant endless love, support, and security. His family saw him not as someone with special needs, but as a cherished member of the family who brought a unique and irreplaceable light into their lives from day one.
He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Debra Mae Heaster of Louisville, KY; grandparents, Bill Heaster (Opal-dec.); uncles and aunts, John Heaster (Gayle), Mark Heaster (dec.) (Denise), Donald Heaster, Penny Madden "Aunt Penny" (Pat); Mae Pratt; Donna Wolfe, and lots of cousins; all residing in West Virginia except for Aunt Penny of Indiana.
His family will be greeting family and friends to remember Daniel's life from 10 am until 12 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews.
Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to Home of the Innocents in Daniel's name.
