Daniel Joseph LeCompte Sr., 91 died Thursday, June 13, 2024. Daniel was a native of Houma, LA and lived in Harvey, LA.
Daniel was in the Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955 as a Jeep driver escorting the Chaplain. When he returned home, he worked at SAIA Motor Freight Lines as a local Truck Driver for 42 years. Daniel was a member of the Algiers Town Tavern Social Club.
He enjoyed fishing, golf, painting, arts & crafts, drawing, woodworking, rock/mineral collecting, singing, and camping. He also loved traveling and frequented Branson Missouri. Daniel constantly clowned around and had a carefree spirit with a bit of a ‘let’s give them something to talk about’ sense of humor.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents Vincent Anthony LeCompte Sr. and Lorena Clark LeCompte, daughter Kathy LeCompte Bourg and brother Roy Vincent LeCompte. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Sons LeCompte; his children Daniel Joseph LeCompte Jr. (Jeff), Denise LeCompte Eggert (Glenn), and Jay Dennis LeCompte; his grandchildren Lionel Bourg (Emily), Amanda Bourg Fontenot (Simon), Benjamin Bourg (Brittany) and Autumn Eggert; and his great grandchildren Weston, Amelia, Daphne, Easton. He is also survived by his half-brother Vincent Anthony LeCompte, Jr and half-sister Alida Delores LeCompte and many cousins, niece and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22nd from 1 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway. A memorial service will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel. Interment will be private.
