Daniel "Dan" Albert Metz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Mount Ephraim, NJ, at the age of 72. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.
FAMILY
Born on March 4, 1952, Dan devoted his life to his family, his country, and his career. He was the cherished husband of Jane (nee Madden) Metz, with whom he shared 53 years of enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised four children: Jesse, Pat, Kathy, and the late Michael Metz. He was the doting grandfather to Shay, Troy, Olivia, David, Daniel, Jules, and Rocky, who will forever remember his warmth and wisdom. Dan also held a special place in the hearts of his dear cousin Jan Holt and his close friends Dan Bark and Ralph Hagewood.
LEGACY
Dan served with distinction in the United States Navy aboard the USS Blue Ridge, a testament to his dedication and commitment. Following his honorable military service, he continued to exemplify hard work as a Blue Seal Boilerman Engineer. His career was marked by his unwavering dedication and expertise, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers. A man of resilience and integrity, Dan's legacy will be remembered through the lives he touched and the memories he created. His contributions to his family and community were profound and lasting, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
FAREWELL CEREMONY
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 29, 2024, after 10 AM at McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. A Memorial Ceremony and Military Honors will follow at 11:30 AM, providing an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the remarkable life of Daniel "Dan" Albert Metz. In remembrance of Dan, expressions of condolence may be directed to his family. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will remain alive within us, guiding and inspiring us as we continue to honor his memory.
