Funeral services for Daniel Scott, age 56, of Chateaugay will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Frary Funeral Home with Pastor Juanita Brooks officiating. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Scott passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. He is survived by his wife, Cherie Scott; his children, Nathan (Sara) Scott, of Constable, Jason (Alexandria) Scott, of Malone, Leila (Geoff Green) Jones, of Malone, and Kayla (Daniel) Walker, of North Bangor; his mother, Dorothy Flynn, of San Antonio TX; his grandchildren, Kole, Ty, Charlie Mae, Malakai, Rowen, Tobias, Bentley, and one more on the way; his siblings, Timothy Scott, of San Antonio, TX, Neal (Lisa) Scott, of Constable, Susie (Robert) Caldwell, of Chase Mills; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dan was born on April 30, 1968, in Constable, NY, the son of Wayne Scott and Dorothy Flynn. He graduated from Franklin Academy in 1986 and pursued an Associate's Degree in Environmental Science from SUNY Morrisville before completing his Bachelor's Degree from Syracuse University in 1990. Dan went to work at the Saranac Lake Central School in 1999 as a janitor and worked his way up the ladder until he went to work for the Northern Adirondack Central School in Ellenburg Depot in 2022 and served as the Director of Facilities at the time of his death. He married Jane Russell in 1992 and had two sons. They divorced but remained friends. He then married Cherie Surprenant on September 7, 2019 in North Bangor, NY with Pastor Juanita Brooks presiding. With marrying Cherie, he was blessed to welcome two daughters that became his own. Dan loved to spend as much time as he could with his grandchildren and family. For many years Dan enjoyed bowling in a league. He also could be found tinkering with something. He was not one to sit and be idle. Dan was very active in his union at work, CSEA and very giving of himself in any way he could. Donations in his memory can be to the American Cancer Society or to the Vermont Children's Hospital. Condolences may be made online at www.fraryfuneralhome.com.
