Daniel L. Stroud, 49, of Linthicum, MD, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 8th, 2025.

Dan was born on June 3rd, 1975, in Carlisle, PA, to John and Donna (Cline) Stroud.

Dan is survived by his parents, John and Donna Stroud, his children, Lylah and Gabriel Stroud, his girlfriend, Stephanie McGehee and her children, whom he treated as his own, Luke McGehee, Stella McGehee, and Salem McGehee, his sister, Danita Johns (Rick), his nephew, Dylan Johns, and his former wife, Rachel Fitzhugh.

Dan is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert Cline Sr. and Doris Cline, and his paternal grandparents, Frank Stroud and Eva Stroud.

Dan graduated in 1993 from Boiling Springs High School. He held a job in Maryland as the Lead Architect and Developer and a Cloud Engineer for HII NEXT.

Dan was a man of many interests, but he particularly enjoyed music. He formed Last Kiss Goodnight in 2018, and Daydream Destroyer in 2024. He was a talented songwriter and guitarist. He enjoyed writing music, traveling, and performing with his band. They truly became part of his family. He also took an interest in rock climbing and hunting.

Family was everything to Dan, and he made sure to show it. With his children, Lylah and Gabriel, he enjoyed camping, bringing the children to his music gigs and practice, driving around, having breakfast together, going to the pool, visiting a local store to see the owner's German Shephards, with the owner always giving them candy, attending concerts, and listening to music together.

With Stephanie and her children, Dan enjoyed baking together. His brown butter chocolate chip cookies were quite a frequent request. He also found joy in their game nights, grilling together, and lounging by the pool.
